AJ Foster, a rising collegiate football star at Winston Salem State University, was born in Norfolk, VA, and spent his formative years in Raleigh, NC. Graduating from Clayton High School in the Class of 2023, AJ quickly made a name for himself on the football field, showcasing his exceptional skills as a fullback and tight end. Currently a starting freshman at Winston Salem University, AJ has already left an indelible mark with a notable touchdown in his debut season.
AJ's journey in sports began with football, the sport that captured his heart from the very start. Although he dabbled in basketball, it was football that resonated with him, providing a unique sense of control and empowerment. For AJ, the gridiron isn't just a field of play; it's a canvas where he orchestrates the game, showcasing his prowess as a versatile player. As he continues to carve out his path at Winston Salem State University, AJ Foster stands poised to become a prominent figure in collegiate football, blending his innate talent with a genuine passion for the game.
AJ's roots that trace back to his early days in Pop Warner. His football journey began in 2010 at the age of five, and his commitment to the sport has been nothing short of remarkable.
From his involvement in the Shrine Bowl during middle school, where he not only showcased his skills but also contributed to raising funds for Shriner's Hospital and brought smiles to sick children, to his standout performances in American Youth Football (AYF) Travel Team, AJ's dedication and talent have been on full display. He participated in prestigious events such as the AAU ESPN All-Star game in Orlando, FL, where his team secured an impressive 3rd place in the region. AJ's achievements continued through high school, where he was a four-year varsity player, culminating in a standout senior year with over 100 tackles completed, including an astounding 50 tackles in less than five games.
AJ's journey includes memorable moments like playing in the Crown Hall of Fame preseason game during the year Ray Lewis was inducted, winning the game and earning a trophy with his name now residing in the Hall of Fame. Notable recognitions include being named MVP at the Carolina Bowl held at Duke University and earning the prestigious 13U Defensive Player of the Year award at the Griddle Awards in Charlotte, NC.
